Description
“See the Unseen” is a life-size, augmented-reality (AR) experience, influenced by “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” that shows Nissan’s hidden technology. We went beyond immersion by make virtual obstacles appear so imposing and realistic, they seem completely real.
Execution
In a first for AR, the experience is initiated by placing a mobile device onto an object—in this case a Nissan car. Upon activation, users see the AR starship hiding inside and can unlock the ability to direct droids, explore the star-wars themed surroundings, and witness firsthand how Nissan technology can make the drive better and safer. It works from both inside and outside the vehicle, further enhancing the illusion.
Outcome
The experience took place on the showroom floors of over a thousand dealerships and auto shows across the US and proved that understanding technology wasn't just about getting information, but having a ton of fun while doing so.
