OVERVIEW

Description

The idea is based on a dialog between two eras. In all times, the feelings that people experience are the same, yet ways to express them are inevitably different. In the past, people used to write letters, keep diaries and fight in duels. Today's passions are played out in text conversations and on social network pages. The turbulent emotions of the past presented in a modern environment become easier to understand with the help of modern vernacular: Emoji, hashtags and selfies.

Execution

The train is called Shakespearean Passions.

On the outside it is decorated with expressive portraits of modern people portraying classic Shakespearean characters, their feelings emphasized by emotional illustrations.

The train's interior features quotes from Shakespeare's greatest works illustrated with Emoji.

At the end of each train car is a selfie spot with a brief biography of the playwright that passengers can read while waiting for their turn to take a picture. Matching tickets and posters also illustrated with the portraits and Emoji were created to advertise the project and the contest.

Outcome

The train garnered a lot of attention. The project was actively discussed in the media and in social networks. Passengers were eagerly reading the quotes, taking photographs with Shakespeare's portrait and became truly interested in his heritage. The train's popularity led to its run being extended by several months. In the end, the train brought a pleasant and beneficial diversity to the underground commute of millions of Moscow residents and tourists.
