In the ad we show people Volkswagen’s newest colour: shameful blush. (In Dutch this is ‘schaamrood’, a colour name that is part of a well known Dutch expression that means ‘to be red in the face’
Execution
The execution as simple as the idea itself. We show the colour ‘shameful blush’ in the same way that colours are shown in car brochures.
Outcome
The ad (and not the scandal itself) dominated the news positively, nationally as well as internationally.
It was a Trending Topic on Twitter and was discussed in almost every current-affairs show on radio and TV.
