When women apply Shiseido cosmetic products to their uploaded faces on the website, sounds that match the colours of the makeup are generated and woven together. The resulting pieces are then continuously played in the head flagship store as the in-store music.By applying makeup to suit their moods, users can design a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects their daily lives. The platform was constructed to scan uploaded photos for face, eyes, nose, and mouth shapes, which are then combined with selected makeup colours to generate 59,049 possible patterns of music.
Outcome
Within 60 days from its release, 4600 pieces of music were created on the website.
Through user participation, new music is being created every day. The continually fresh sounds and melodies of SHISEIDO THE GINZA delight its shoppers.
