OVERVIEW

Description

Snapchat works a lot like the mind of a patient with Alzheimer’s. That’s why we created an account on this social network in which the memories of an elderly person vanished day by day as a result of this disease.

The account invited people to visit a web site in which they could test their elder relatives in order to detect warning signs for Alzheimer’s.

Execution

We created an account on Snapchat in which the memories of an elderly person vanished day by day as a result of Alzheimer's.

Most of those Snapchat videos invited followers to go to mundorecuerdos.com

When people accessed the web page they found the same content that was on Snapchat, reminding them that some people’s memories may not last forever. On the web site they could also invite a member of their family, in person or via e-mail, to take a specialized test in order to detect warning signs for Alzheimer’s. This way, people who didn’t even suspect that could suffer from the disease could be alerted to talk to a specialist.

Outcome

7,900 people in Colombia, Venezuela, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Mexico and Spain have taken the test, and 36 of them have found signs of possible Alzheimer’s as a result. This means that now 36 families will be able to treat the Alzheimer’s of one of their own in order to stay longer in their memories.
