Aside from traditional marketing methods, our tactics include street spray paint “Tags” that indicated the “border line” of each of the Nine Gate divisions of Beijing, eight branded Nine Gates vans cruised the city from recruitment up to the event, an actual 7 meter Nine Gates Logo “gate” was erected at the entrance of Beijing’s most popular basketball street court, the Nine Gates posters were posted throughout the city, street teams in branded gear roamed the city recruiting kids for the teams, and a special Nine Gates Newspaper was developed for citywide distribution.

Outcome

The event became an authentic cultural phenomenon celebrating the fusion of China’s ancient heritage with hip-hop, street basketball and Nike. It was the largest event of it’s kind for Nike China, widely covered by national and international media, and further enhanced and solidified Nike's brand position in the market.
