Barcelona's signing of Thierry Henry in August 2007 placed him amidst one of the largest Nike branded clubs in the world and partnering one of Nike's most prominent footballing ambassadors - Ronaldinho.The specific issue facing Reebok was the need to avoid the 're-Nikefication' of Thierry Henry; an assumption that the Spanish public would have of Henry on his arrival to the no. 1 Nike club in the world.In summary the aim was to maximize the awareness of Thierry Henry's brand association with Reebok in Spain.
