OVERVIEW

Description

Stalevo is combination levodopa tablet for the treatment of Parkinson's disease (PD), its benefits compared to standard levodopa treatment are real in both clinical and human terms. The challenge was to devise a way to persuade doctors to switch from the standard treatment, so their patients could get the benefits of Stalevo. The switch was perceived by doctors as a complicated procedure, so we needed to make it seem as straightforward as possible.

Our strategy was to use an emotional and a rational hook. We created a digital tool to demonstrate how easy switching can be and how it could benefit patients. It also illustrated the clinical benefits of Stalevo and gave a key opinion leaders view on the matter. The tool was combined with a micro-documentary to demonstrate how patients would benefit from Stalevo in the real world.

The tool was for use by representatives with doctors and on a website accessible by doctors.

The outcome was that more doctors were willing to accept the dosing benefits of Stalevo and consider prescribing it in future.

Execution

The representatives introduced the dose tool amongst the target audience for about year. It gave the doctors a strong rational and emotional reason to switch to Stalevo.

Outcome

Unique to the levodopa market place the Stalevo dose tool is a very practical and robust contribution to the doctor's working day. Its combination of high functionality with real life insights into patient stories helped to successfully educate prescribers. Furthermore, representatives appreciated having a clear visual explanation of Stalevo's benefits and sales of this mature product reflected this.
