Background

STAR Channel is a prominent player on the Latin American television scene. In 2023, it was time to launch it across all EMEA territory. Which required the development of a brand more suited to these new, massive and diverse audience. We should honour its origins while crafting a fresh story that connects with very different cultures.

Idea

To share STAR's story across 3 continents, we felt that we needed “A Brilliant Change”. We focused on the original logo’s uniqueness – the central cut of the star – redesigning and crafting a new narrative of light and movement. A slight change of light that now resembles a “shooting star” guides us into a new television universe.



Execution

Brilliant all the way.

We used light creatively to create a new brand system of more than 2000 assets that flow across STAR’s 7 channels and on different platforms, like TV, OOH, Social Media and Digital.

We also built a 3D cosmopolitan city within the channels’ breaks and themes. A city full of alleys and places that could be anywhere in Europe, the Middle East or Africa. Where our shooting star’s trail of light led us to stories of suspense, action, romance and humor that define each channel theme.


Outcome

In an international campaign everyone witnessed an extraordinary phenomenon: the birth of a brilliantly shining future for STAR Channel. Ensuring that our series, films and characters will continue to illuminate the audiences of the 3 continents, now in an even more brilliant way.

The rebranding is still ongoing. The first studies we had access to say that the general perception was that with the rebranding the channels became brighter, more inclusive and sophisticated.
