Someone to go sell their wife’s diamond wedding ring to go watch a football game seems like a pretty douchey move to do. But we didn’t want our protagonist to look or feel like a villain… we wanted him to look like a man who just succumbed to the pressure of finances, and his love of football. We cast an awkward looking man that you can find on the average street who went through the stages of worry, regret, relief and finally, jubilation. At the same time, we wanted to cast the perfect looking dodgy jeweler that any person can relate to. He had to find the right balance of arrogance and suspicion - and really look like every Arab jeweler / pawn shop owner you see at the market.
