The Sunscreen Scanner app was launched through a video that shows a variety of summer fails that can happen when people don’t apply sunscreen properly. It’s available as a free download from the App Store.

The app also provides consumers with tips on how to protect themselves from the sun, and shows them the ideal O Boticário sunscreen based on their skin type.

Outcome

- Sales of O Boticário’s sunscreen line increased by 85.6% compared to the previous year.

- Sales of one specific product, an SPF 50 sunscreen lotion for the face, increased by a whopping 163%.

- The app became a service.

Now, every time Brazilians go out to enjoy the sun, they know they can count on the app, and end up getting in contact with the brand.

- Spontaneous media in websites and blogs about health, beauty and technology.
