Description
A glimpse into what Taylor Swift is doing, right now. (Including cookie dough, cats, and fight scenes.)
Execution
We timed the film’s release to just before the launch of Taylor’s new album “Reputation” — right as fan anticipation and interest had built to a fever pitch. Taylor’s fans are famous for hunting down every clue, pic, and video featuring their favorite star, and this film dropped to make the most of that. Taylor Swift herself tweeted clips from the film to her more than 85.5 million followers on Twitter before ultimately premiering the film herself in her social feeds — resulting in hundreds of thousands of hearts, likes, retweets and the like.
Outcome
Beyond the immediate effect of being shared by Taylor’s enormous fan base, the most interesting outcome was a GIF of one of the clips from the film—namely, Taylor kicking Andy Samberg through a wall. That GIF was viewed more than 110 million times, and was officially named one of the top 20 most-shared GIFs of 2017.
