Background
This is the 2018 Christmas ad for Bouygues Telecom one of the top internet providers in France.
Idea
This Christmas spot tells the story of the complicity, between a father and his son through awkward dance moves.
The loving father is a man with some groovy moves and we follow him and his son as the years go by and the kid goes from being a little boy marveling at his father, to an awkward teenager and finally becoming a dad himself.
Strategy
The story illustrates how with Bouygues Telecom, a brand new smartphone under the tree is more than just a new piece of technology, it can also be the beginning of beautiful new stories, making generations meet.
Execution
The film came out on TV and online.
Outcome
With over 170 million organic views and 4 million shares, it was the most viral French campaign of 2018.
The awkward dance quickly became a viral one and the soundtrack made it to the top of the Shazam, Spotify and iTunes rankings in France. It got 8 million streams and the band even released a special edition album.
