Description
We Inspired developers by creating the only job opportunity with a chair designed for its candidates.
Each feature was inspired by Mercedes-Benz technology and designed to provide a better work experience based on a developer’s working day, including
Custom Seat Adjust, User Assistant, Inbuilt Sound System, Health Assistant, Massage and Thermal Dynamics Assistant.
The Best Chair impacted its main target at its launch during the largest tech event in Europe, Web Summit.
Execution
To create The Best Chair from scratch, we brought together Mercedes-Benz IO and the agency. All its hardware and software control features were a result of the combination of both worlds, putting in practice client knowledge to provide a better work experience to the targeted developers.
From design to engineering, the structure and the mobile app all allowed the user to connect and control the chair.
It took 3 months of hard work and testing to get it ready. Finally, the big day arrived. We launched The Best Chair during the Web Summit, the largest technology event in Europe. Using the event as media, we placed the chair inside the Mercedes-Benz’ booth to draw attention to every Web Summit visitor. Every person that approached the chair could experience its features, by using the mobile app to adjust it to their preferences.
Outcome
The Best Chair inspired more developers than the number of job positions available at Mercedes-Benz IO at the time. 30x more to be precise. Powered by the tech event of the year, Web Summit, the idea got worldwide attention, reaching even developers abroad. The project also got the attention of Mercedes-Benz HQ and became part of its employer brand/talent acquisition strategy. The Best Chair is now being implemented also at the Mercedes-Benz IO offices in Stuttgart and Berlin.
