The campaign was launched during the breast cancer awareness month, unexpectedly inviting all female customers to participate in a contest, not for shoes, perfumes or handbags, but for something even better, the best gift of their lives… a mammogram. Hundreds of women became aware of the importance of early detection of the disease and some other hundreds won what was maybe the best gift they ever received. The way we did it was with a vending machine in two strategic points of the city. This machine gave away the gifts of the campaign

Execution

The campaign took place between October 10 and October 31st.

For the purpose of the campaign, it was split in two stages.

1) In the first stage, vending machines were set in the shopping center. Women were offered shoes, perfumes, handbags and also a mammogram. The main objective was to detect the real importance women give to breast cancer,

Once customers chose their gift, one of two things happened:

Mammogram: a free preventive exam was given.

Gifts: a message informined about breast cancer statistics and the benefits of a mammogram and the risks of late detection.

Besides the vending at the shopping mall, another one was installed in a crowded street in the city

2) The second stage consisted in showing the experience in social networks,. The objective was to reach an even larger audience, not only Alto Las Condes customers, but also all women at risk.

More than 800,000 views of the social experiment in 3 weeks

Hundreds of comments celebrating the initiative

The video reached1,741,842 people and received 4 times more hits than expected, amounting to 842,116 views.

19,631 “likes” were achieved with the video and 762 comments in YouTube, 6 and 7 times more than the usual number of them, respectively.
