Description

Young people often perceive Scotch-Brite as a brand only mothers use. They don’t have Scotch-Brite products in their minds when they need to clean something.

They often forget that in order to clean their glasses or smartphones there are always specific kinds of cloth, and instead they don’t care about doing this with whatever cloth they have in reach.

Execution

In this day and age, young people clean their glasses and smartphones with whatever they have in reach, and the closest piece of cloth they have is usually their t-shirt. That is why we decided that the best way for them to try our product was to sew on a t-shirt a small piece of Scotch-Brite Microfiber Cloth, turning our t-shirt into a very cool piece of clothing. We created “The Cleaning T-Shirt” so that they can keep on doing what they always do, but at the same time, taking care of what they love most.

Outcome

-Our first batch of garment production (a limited edition of one thousand pieces) implemented on 3M stores, sold out in 2 weeks.

-Microfiber cloth sales increased in every specialty store.

-We brought Scotch-Brite closer to a younger audience, making it visible and relevant among them.
