Description

We were briefed by Mentos to create an activation that created real connections between real people. So in a public space, using real people we constructed an elevator carriage that only moves when people talk - a Conversation-Powered Lift.

And like the Conversation-Powered Lift, Mentos Gum gives people the little bit of help they need to take the first step and talk to new people.

Execution

In a section of a London office building, we modified a lift carriage so that it would only operate if audio-sensors picked up the sounds of conversation. If the conversation ceased and there was an awkward silence, the lift would slow to a stop making it clear to the occupants of the elevator that they would only get to where they needed to go if they kept chatting. The stunt took place during the course of one day using real people.
