Background

OLYMPIKUS is Brazil's most traditional and largest sports brand, yet it was the last option when it came to sports tech. Amateur and professional runners invested their time, money, and sweat in brands like Nike, Adidas, Asics, and New Balance.

Our objective was to leave this uncomfortable last option place and go straight first option place, reaching the top of minds of all consumers and runners.

We needed an idea that could change Olympikus' profit, sales, and image perspective in all its nearly 50 years of existence.

Idea

Olympikus' mission is to improve Brazil through sports. So we created a shoe with the face and DNA of Brazilians: Corre (a.k.a Run. Literally)

For this, we relied on a team with hundreds of passionate Brazilians, professional athletes and also the world's largest biomechanics lab, at the University of São Paulo.

A shoe crafted by the entire running community, with 100% Brazilian DNA, made by the hands, heads, and, of course, the feet of all involved.

Strategy

People only bought Olympikus shoes out of necessity or when it was the last purchase option.

Olympikus' mission is to improve Brazil through sports. Therefore, our goal was to create the most technological running shoe, with an affordable price to attract more and more Brazilians to the world of running and athletics.

To create the best running shoes ever made in Latin America and convince the entire running community that Olympikus is a brand to be reckoned with, we relied on a large team including not only the running community with amateur and professional runners but also designers, scientists, engineers, running influencers, sports personalities, journalists and the largest biomechanics lab in Latin America. Dozens of professionals worked collaboratively on Corre since the beginning of the project.

We listened to the entire community through social listening and the brand's proprietary running platform to create the running shoe that runners really wanted.

Outcome

We provided cutting-edge footwear technology at affordable prices for hundreds-of-thousands of Brazilians.

CORRE line was Sold-Out in stores and e-Commerce in its first days of sales

Olympikus has seen its highest revenue in recent years: R$ 3.000.000.000 (roughly: US$600 million).

CORRE won the "Shoe of the Year" award by popular vote.

It was the most used shoe by Brazilian runners on Strava (app), the main platform for runners worldwide (17.000.000 in Brazil).

CORRE was worn by the winner and over 22% of over 16.000 participants from the São Paulo Marathon, appering on the podium in more than 150 marathons. An almost 100% growth from 2023.

On GoogleTrends, searches for OLYMPIKUS CORRE surpassed Adidas, Asics, Nike, and Fila.

Olympikus is now being sold in major chains that had not previously sold anything from it.

From last place, Olympikus is now the TOP CHOICE and MARKET LEADER when it comes to running.
