Description

There is no official way to put your message inside a movie. But in Poland it is still popular to download pirate movies. So in this case the subtitles are a smart solution to connect the message with the movie - it is the user who choose the subtitles, that's why the message should be not invasive and very coherent with the film.

Execution

Inside the subtitles (except normal translation) there was a special content: the death counter which count every killed person and a symbol of electronic candle [*].

At the end of the movie there was an extra message:

In this movie you saw death 75[*] times.

In Gaza Strip the same amount of civilians were killed during one day.

Don’t be indifferent to death. Sign the petition on the www.amnesty.org.pl/gaza

Outcome

With zero cost our campaign reached 27000 people. Number of signed petition rose to 4800, and it’s still growing.

During discussions on popular movie forums some people pointed out number of killed people. They were not indifferent to brutality and death anymore.
