We developed a giant dog head with an audio system that allowed us to reproduce the sound of the fireworks 7 times stronger than we usually hear it, which is the way dogs hear it.
We invited people on streets and parks to put it on, to live the experience and to feel in first hand what dogs suffer.
Execution
During an entire day in the most important squares and streets of Buenos Aires, Argentina, we carried out an action to raise awareness about the use of fireworks and how they affect dogs. We developed a giant dog head with an audio system that allowed us to reproduce the sound of the fireworks 7 times stronger than we usually hear it. We invited the people who walked the streets to put it on, to live the experience and to feel first hand what dogs suffer.
Outcome
The message was quickly accepted and shared by thousands of people on social networks. In addition, the specialized and mass media joined the campaign and echoed the message.
The issue was trending topic on Twitter that day and during the days leading up to the end of the year, many people started talking about it.
In addition, the shelter's social networks increased their number of followers and received support from many other organizations and shelters.
