Background

Home retail store Clas Ohlson is a Nordic chain store. They are a one stop shop for everything you need to make your home ready for spring.

Execution

This film takes place in a live-action "real" world but where the main characters 100% CGI.

We faced the usual technical challenges of matching CGI seamlessly into live action backgrounds. However the real challenge was how to make it believable that these characters (and especially the Flower) could be "alive" and express emotions, while still fitting into such a realistic world. This was further made difficult by the fact that we wanted to tell an emotional (as opposed to comedic) story.

If the animation was too stylised then it would not fit into the world, but if it was too "realistic" then it would not be able to convey the subtle emotions that we needed to tell the story, so we worked very hard to find the right balance.
