Description

Join The Pact is Johnnie Walker's don't drink and drive global initiative. The pact is a global movement that asks people to stay in control and sign up to the cause. Johnnie Walker sponsor the McLaren Mercedes F1 racing team and Mika Hakkinen is the Join The Pact ambassador. The Glass Car film is the latest flaship piece of content to promote the movement. It acts as a reminder of the fragility of human life as it asks people to make the commitment to never drink and drive. The film is set in a CGI rendered model of the McLaren F1 Racing Team's HQ in the UK.

Execution

The McLaren Technology Centre was painstakingly recreated in CGI using Maya to an accuracy of 3mm. The car is an accurate life size model of the McLaren MP 4-28 F1 racing car. 1750 Johnnie Walker tumblers were used to create the glass car model. The Houdini smash simulation took over a week to generate and generated over 100 gigabytes of data.
