Description
We put stickers on 10 Euro notes and put them into circulation around Europe. Every time someone got change at a bar, a café, a grocery store, or a sandwich shop they were told that with that money, they could save two lives from Malaria. All they had to do was donate it to Develop Africa, instead of buying another round or a stick of gum with it.
Execution
We printed out dozens of contextually designed stickers and placed them on thousands of 10 Euro notes. We then worked with businesses and vendors to circulate the money. These vendors and places of businesses ranged from cafes, grocery stores, bodegas, bars, shops, gas stations, etc. We also gave these businesses their own stickers to place on money themselves in order to keep circulation going.
Outcome
Since we just launched on World Malaria Day (April 25th), we only have estimated results in at the moment. But the most important result we can estimate is that the donations made by directing people to the URL from the circulated money could result in 2,000 lives saved. Also, because of the nature of our idea, we have a near limitless reach as money will continue to circulate indefinitely until it is donated.
