Description

People charge their phones every day, for multiple times. Everyone desires a convenience such as wireless charger to avoid carrying their chargers around. All-New KIA Sportage has wireless charger for Android smartphones, so we had to reach the Android smartphone users in their times of modern despair: Running out of charge & plugging in their chargers. We used one of the most popular apps in Turkey as a means to reach this audience in the right moment, the moment of plugging in to charge, with a push notification saying that they can charge their phone without any cables in All-New KIA Sportage.

Execution

We created an Android service for Fenerbahçe Official Fan App. This service monitors charging status of the device. When user plugs in a charger, service detects the event and sends an push notification to notify user. In order to not disturb our users, we only send 2 notifications per each user. All development finished in 2 weeks and we tested system for 1 week. We do not show any message in application so users only experience our campaign when they charge their phones.

Outcome

The innovative medium for our message helped our message to be viewed by over 5.000 people in just 24 hours. The campaign will be running through April 19, 2016 to May 19, 2016 for 1 month & the business impact is to be observed in the upcoming months.
