In Winter 2015, Volkswagen tasked us to advertise the Volkswagen Car-Net app, an application that allows you to control your car with your phone. One of its best features during the cold season is the Window Defroster function. It allows you to defrost your car windows with the push of a button. To communicate this advantage to potential customers, Volkswagen asked us to develop a direct mailing.

We developed: the Phone Scraper. A phone case that also works as an ice scraper. Designed with high aspiration. Colored in corporate blue. Parceled in premium packaging with a defrosted viewing window. And sent out to potential costumers in a limited edition mailing to carry a special message: “Now you can defrost your car using a phone. But you might prefer to use our app for it. The Volkswagen Car-Net Window Defroster.” A link led the recipients to the Volkswagen Car-Net website.
