Description
We developed a limited-edition masking tape that instantly identifies its product benefit at a glance. And it worked. The paint-splash designs attracted a great deal of attention in DIY stores. As well as that, we discarded the typical outer packaging so the eye-catching designs would stand out easily and at the same time help reduce waste.
Execution
The 3M Self-Masking Tape is available in three designs. The first production run consisted of 3 x 2.000 units. The next run will be increased to 3 x 10.000 units.
Outcome
During the promotion period the 3M Self-Masking Tape was the best-seller in its category. Due to this positive response, Scotch is planning to launch the product in other European markets.
