Description
How do you draw attention to real photography when your audience has only ever known digital? Our inspiration came from the humble viewfinder ‘spyhole’ on the front door of virtually every Japanese home. The Spyholes acted as a natural camera lens for a range of camera designs we created. Each design had a circular hole cut from it where the lens should be. The spyholes then completed the camera designs we had created when we stuck our stickers onto the doors of our customers. Each camera followed a simple classic design. Each carried a simple message to discover the real fun of photography, along with the stores website and the address.
Execution
The Spyholes we used acted as natural camera lenses. We simply created a range of classic camera designs that could be stuck over the top of each spyhole. Each sticker was created to fit the individual sizes of each spyhole on the doors of our customers. We created 9 individual camera body designs to fit four differently sized spyholes; the common sizes available in Japan. The door friendly stickers were of classic camera designs - like the Polaroid Instamatic.
