Saníssimo decided to help them by designing THE SQUID, a portable buoy that generates electricity using sea currents. A battery inside is charged and then it is used to power lights anywhere they need it.

It's a combination of a hydroelectric turbine and a buoy in a very small scale, which makes it portable and easy to use anywhere there is water flowing in currents.

Hydroelectric portable buoy that generates electricity using the sea current. Fixing the buoy inside the current makes the helix spin which in turn makes a generator run, turning kinetic energy into electricity that is stored in a battery for later use.

Components include: The helix, the buoy, the generator, battery and circuitry for converting and storing energy.

User has to position the buoy where current is flowing so that helix may spin freely.

This local effort can be easily replicated in a larger scale in all mexican fishing ports and bays, solving a lot of electric deficiencies and making fishermen's work easier.

Easy to use and to carry around, we developed a very compact technology allowing it to be a powerful small device.
