This spot follows Carmen, a girl from the UK who has been working as a Huskie Guild in the Arctic for 3 years. She loves the dogs and her job very much, but it's very evident that she misses her family as well. Back home in the UK, her Mum is very proud, but misses Carmen too. Working with Knorr, Carmen's Mum flies up to the Arctic Circle to surprise Carmen with a home cooked meal and a hug. As Carmen unknowingly eats the dish that her Mum has secretly prepared, she says to the company chef "Have you been talking to my Mum", at which point Carmen's Mum steps out and the tears flow.

Before choosing Carmen and her Mum as the subjects of the spot, we had to scout and interview people all over the world who were doing something out of the ordinary far away from home. While Carmen's relationship with her Mum was the most touching of the bunch, it certainly was the not easiest situation to shoot. This job was already low-budget, and it also required our team and director to travel and shoot in a very remote and frigid part of the world - the Arctic. Due to these circumstances, the crew consisted of only 4 people and travel to the Huskie Park was very difficult, taking days at a time due to the many connections and modes of transport needed to get there. Often the camera would stop working because it was so cold outside, even under protection. Limited resources in the town meant the crew had to have all supplies on hand while traveling and be prepared for any mishaps along the way.
