Overview

Background

As a brand that was born at the beach, Beach is the best place to demonstrate "outside we live again", so ocean protection is deeply connected to purpose. If you want to be there, you need to protect it.

To protect the ocean from being polluted by plastic, corona minimized the plastic generation during the whole supply chain and production process.

This year, we want to recruit more people and organizations for ocean protection.

Idea

Instead of a one-off activity, we expanded the Global Plastic fishing program into a long-term project throughout the whole year.

By collaborating with China’s largest ocean conservation institution Blue Ribbon, we yearly recycled 145 tons of plastic waste from the ocean.

And we partnered with China’s first B-Corp organization How Bottle to reproduce the collected plastics into fashionable items, embedding ocean protection into consumers’daily life.

Strategy

While adapting this project in China, we want it to be more than just a one-off activity and hope it can bring more people together to join ocean protection.

Instead of a one-off activity, we expanded it into a long-term project throughout the whole year.

We collaborated with China’s largest ocean conservation institution Blue Ribbon, to collect 145 tons of plastic waste from the ocean.

Moreover, we partnered with China’s first B-Corp organization How Bottle to reproduce the plastics we collected into fashionable items and embedded ocean protection into consumers’daily life.

Until now, 95 recycling events were held in 11 coastal cities and 145 tons of plastic wasted were collected successfully.

Outcome

The campaign attracted numerous media and influencers to join with Corona and speak up for the ocean.

Consumers found the event meaningful and considered Corona as a socially responsible brand.

95 recycling events were held in 11 coastal cities, and 145 tons of plastic waste were collected successfully.

128kg of plastic rubbish were given a second life, attracting hundreds of consumers to buy recycled products.

More beer brands are joining us for plastic reduction and environmental protection.
