Background

Hardcore NFL fans wouldn't care about Thursday Night Football because, since its inception in 2006, it’s featured nothing but poor teams and boring matchups.

But in 2018, when FOX acquired the rights to TNF, FOX’s first order of business was stacking Thursday Night with the best teams for the best games of the week. Finally, Thursday Night Football had a schedule worth talking about. And that's what these ads aim to highlight - excitement of interesting teams finally playing on Thursday Night Football.

Execution

For FOX Sports' reinvigoration of Thursday Night Football, we created a series of films that celebrated the storylines of the team matchups in ways that would connect with real football fans.

Each film shows everyday football fanatics, from dentists to students, talking up Fox’s new Thursday Night Football games. Each diehard fan gives a ridiculously passionate argument to an unsuspecting listener for why this Thursday’s matchup is one that cannot be missed.

Additionally, the film features NFL stars Jared Goff, Ndamukong Suh and Saquon Barkley along with FOX Sports broadcaster Joe Buck and Pro Football Hall of Famers Troy Aikman, Michael Strahan, Terry Bradshaw and Howie Long. Each character has unbridled enthusiasm for this new slate of games, and is showing that excitement in conversation with their peers, all ending with the common theme that this year, it's different. This year, these games will be good: "Now, It's A Game."
