A group of fearless bargoers enjoy their last moments together, as civilization crumbles around them. As the impending doom worsens outside, inside they are doubling down on the Cuervo (and the Elvis), as for these brave souls 'tomorrow is overrated.

Our first task was to concept the look and feel of the apocalyptic world. We did this through digital matte painting, tailoring those concepts on a shot by shot basis. We then moved onto FX R&D along with CG modelling of sections of the interior and exterior of the bar.

The apocalyptic storm required layers of atmospherics to make the desert feel enveloped in destruction and chaos. Along with multiple finely detailed simulations of sand, dust, finer debris - the meteors, roof tearing and earth fracture were heavily designed and executed in FX. Those FX sims were then layered with hand animated larger elements, telephone wires, sheet metal, collapsing roof elements. As well as the 2D team compositing all those elements to create the ‘end of the world’ they layered in flares, shakes, shatters, sparks, and shock waves to bring it all together to complete this epic apocalyptic film.
