HEAD’s racket Tornado E+ Bela comes from the perfect synergy between a paddle world champion, Fernando Belasteguin, and HEAD, the best brand in this sport. It was like the perfect alliance, so we just had to believe in the concept, even if we had a very low budget. The idea of kids imagining the racket lead us to Bela imagining his own racket too, and that’s how we imagined the commercial. Obviously paddle doesn’t have the same budget as tennis. That’s why the idea had to be more powerful still. We wanted to put paddle and Head very high in an emotional scale. It was time for paddle to be respected and valued inside the world of elite sport. The video had thousands of views, a huge repercussion for a smaller sport like paddle. Hundreds of blogs and webs uploaded the piece, several forums talked about it, and we didn’t have a single person who didn’t like it. It is a simple idea, told in a nice and romantic way, that’s why public like it and want us to know that they like it. That’s nice: connecting with the public.
