Description

Elevator Pitch:

This was an incredibly simple idea with an equally simple execution that was made on a tiny budget and yet still exudes elegance as well as the premium nature of the brand. It stands out from the usual guts and glory pieces that dominate sports marketing with loud music and frenetic visuals. A quiet and literal ‘rose amongst the thorns’ that showed that above all else concept is key.

Execution

EXECUTION:

• use champagne as central focal point - a quintessentially French item

• supplement with a famous song from a traditional French Opera

• focus on sound design and commentary

• minimal stock footage

• simple 2D animation

• keep viewers engaged by defying the laws of physics

Outcome

RESULTS:

• an engaging and uncluttered promo

• it looks quintessentially French

• it sounds quintessentially French

• it got tongues wagging on social media

• scooped 2 Gold Promax Africa Awards

• scooped a Gold Clio Award (only South African entrant to win in any category)

• increased viewership across almost all events
