Tourism Australia wanted to link Australia as a tourist destination to Luhrmann’s feature film "Australia".The commercial shares the key theme of the film, which is "transformation" and more specifically, centering on the transformative powers of this country to the world traveller. Doing this avoided the "sameness" of seeing a list of Australia's (the country) well known locations.The commercials are currently running world wide on television and in cinema.
