Description

Gillette is the official sponsor of UFC in Brazil. The film tells the story of the characters in an unofficial - and fictitious - MMA sub-league. The fighters are ugly, dirty, and smelly. But the winner of the challenge is awarded with Gillette aerosol anti-perspirant, which eliminates the bad smells. The athlete then becomes a UFC star, and a sweet-smelling one.

Execution

To promote its sponsorship of the UFC, Gillette Deodorant Brazil launched the "UFSweat: The League of Heavy Smells". The campaign created a fictional MMA League with renegade athletes who struggle against smelly armpits, and the big prize is a Gillette Deodorant, which eliminates the bad smell and brings the winner back to the UFC. Therefore, to create this alternative world and avoid airing a 'disgusting' copy completely out of Gillette's boundaries, the video was totally made in 3D animation with fictional characters instead of real actors. This solution was also very helpful because we could use some animation tools - such as sewage pipes and pepperoni pizzas coming out of the armpits - to reinforce the fighter's bad smell.
