Description
An odd family, addicted to a specific plaid pattern, celebrates their youngest child's birthday.
Execution
The challenge was to spread The Salvation Army message in a catchy eye way, in turn provoking the audience to donate. We tried to avoid an emotional, heart-tugging approach but went with something edgy, humorous.
We approached the script with an exaggerated visual language so the message would be widely understood and very clear. The idea was to create and show an odd family to illustrate their personality through elements like wardrobe, makeup, hair and peculiar actors.
We had to find the right talent, whom would perform in a subtle and, at the same time, exaggerated way. Our talent would have to be naturally peculiar and be able to send a message without saying a word, just with expressions. We decided on bringing their personality to the narrative and to dress everybody in almost the same outfit to provoke the audience on the oddness situation.
