Description
The Viennese Modernism is an important era which has found its place in Viennas' big museums and historical city scape. But that movement means so much more. Its representatives were ahead of their time and created art, architecture and fashion which is still inspiring today.
We want to show the topicality of that era by bringing Viennas' visual language from 100 years back to life and place it in an contemporary context. We shape Viennese Modernism as a Brand. Be it for B2C campaigns in Europes' big cities or for B2B Partners Events and Mailings.
Execution
For the variety of on- and offline applications and campaigns the identity features a flexible logo- and grid-system inspired by the typographical look of the era setting a visual consistent frame. Additionally we reinterpreted Koloman Mosers graphical work for the "Wiener Werkstätte" from around 1900 and transformed it into lively and contemporary key visuals.
Outcome
The new Visual Identity helps Vienna to promote the diverse era of Viennese Modernism as a consistent Brand and simultaneously proves that the more than 100-year-old work and visual language is still not out of date and can be recreated into a new and contemporary design. Viennese Modernism is not a dead and historical era. It is lively and always worth a visit.
