Background

This device faithfully replicates two mobile phones in a 1:1 ratio, creating a super folding giant screen that reaches up to 8 meters in height and nearly 12 meters in length. It is one of the world's largest single-volume mobile phone installations. By incorporating technologies such as radar tracking, human body capture, and naked-eye 3D, along with rich digital content and the iconic Shanghai Bund scenery, the screen produces stunning effects of blending reality and virtuality, enabling interaction between people and the screen. By combining offline natural attraction with online dissemination, it forms a closed loop of digital marketing for the product, creating a phenomenal promotional event.

Idea

This installation, reaching up to 8 meters in height and nearly 12 meters in length, is one of the world's largest single-volume mobile phone installations, offering exceptional realism in appearance and texture. The screen presents a naked-eye visual spectacle, creating an enchanting visual effect that blurs the line between reality and illusion when combined with urban scenery. It leaves a strong impression and memorable experience for the target audience who appreciates digital content and enjoys the interaction between people and the screen.

This installation showcases stunning effects of blending reality and virtuality, delivering a mind-blowing, surreal visual experience to the target audience of mobile phone enthusiasts. The realistic design and high-quality screen display cater to the aesthetic preferences of urban professionals and business individuals, leaving a deep impression on the audience during the experience.

Execution

1. During the design process, the installation undergoes rigorous material customization and performance testing to ensure durability, robustness, wind resistance, and resistance to obstacles once it is installed on-site.

2. In terms of appearance design, the installation utilizes high-definition LED screens, curved LED screens, and advertising materials with different surface textures to ensure a 1:1 replica of the phone while maintaining consistency in appearance and detail quality with the actual device.

3. By incorporating technologies such as radar tracking, human body capture, and naked-eye 3D, combined with digital content, the installation enables interaction between people and the screen. It can provide real-time monitoring of foot traffic, track interactive data, and facilitate the natural attraction of the product in offline settings.

Outcome

The target audience for these two smartphones mainly comprises young urban white-collar professionals and business individuals. Therefore, the design emphasizes creating a sense of trendy and cool AR experience, connecting the screen with both the real and virtual worlds. Through interactive experiences that are both real and surreal, the goal is to leave a lasting impression on the target audience regarding the appearance and performance of the smartphones.

Considering the different aesthetic preferences of young urban white-collar professionals and business individuals, each of the two large screens follows the main color scheme of the respective smartphone model. In terms of appearance, the design caters to different gender preferences. Additionally, The advertising materials used for the surface finish texture of the devices have undergone dozens of sampling iterations to achieve consistent texture and gloss with the actual devices.
