Background

The vivo S16 project team aims to tell a story about a rabbit to celebrate the Year of Rabbit, while integrating the double-sided soft light feature of the phone into the storyline, hoping that the story can resonate with the audience as they celebrate the Chinese New Year, and show them the key feature of double-sided soft light.

At the turn of the year, some people look back on the past while some look forward to the future. But on Chinese New Year's Eve, everyone talks about going back home. So, we decided to tell a heartwarming story set in such important time of the year.After the film was released on major social media platforms. The film got lots of views on our WeChat Channels and Weibo official account, as well as our Bilibili official account, which gathered more than 2.7 million views 12 hours

Execution

The film is made entirely with CGI animation, and the scenes, characters and props in the film are original designs of the project team. In order to release the film right on the Chinese New Year, we had less than 2 months to translate concept into design, do modeling and texturing, and finally make a 120s long animation that tells a heartwarming story in a grand setting. Ensuring visual quality and detailed texture with a limited time, while perfectly integrating product features into the storyline are some of the biggest challenges we faced when making the film. Finally, DotWell overcame all difficulties to release the film on time, which was warmly welcomed by the client and audience.
