Execution
To get people who love entertainment excited about the feature we let them experience it live in a cinema. Not with a conventional commercial but with a staged live performance in the middle stage of a multiplex cinema. Cancan dancers performed in the ad break before the movie starts – a performance specially created for those in the back seats. A great demonstration of what the feature does: keeping those in the back entertained.
Outcome
A thrilled audience in the cinema and on YouTube. And a happy Volkswagen Dealer in Berlin. Traffic and sales of Rear Seat Entertainment increased distinctly in the weeks after the cinema performance. Sales of optional equipment went up by 4%.
