Description
Drugo is a stop-motion animated video based on a simple, straightforward analogy. The film tells the story of this dragon (analogy with drugs) that was not very harmful at the beginning. But, when the king of a very powerful kingdon starts a war against it, things go out of control. The more they fight against Drugo, the bigger and more powerful it becames. At the end, we discover that a drug-free world is still impossible, but our position in terms of how we deal with the dragon can be more humane, less hypocritical, and less violent.
Execution
The film was released on The Global Commission on Drug Policy (GCDP) page in a number of countries. The objective was to draw attention for this subject. And open a big discussion. Using this audience and their sharing the film on their social networks, Drugo reached an even broader audience. And nothing better than seeing different comments and points of view in our Internet page.
Outcome
The film stirred a discussion and obtained extensive news coverage from newspapers and websites from around the world. In addition, it generated tweets and comments on social networks from opinion leaders including Kofi Annan, former Secretary-General of the U.N., and English entrepreneur Richard Branson, thus engaging people who would normally avoid the topic.
