Background
Everyone knows Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. But in 2023, the META brand remains largely unknown to the general public and is not associated with these applications. Sponsorship of the Rugby World Cup 2023 offered to META a unique opportunity to reinforce its proximity to the European public. The campaign had two objectives:
1/ Reinforce awareness of the Meta brand and its applications at a time when the "Meta" name had just been adopted.
2/ Convince rugby fans and the general public of the added value of Meta's applications and virtual reality experiences.
Idea
In sports, everyone has their own mascot. Except in rugby.
For the 2023 Rugby World Cup, META has created mascots for each of the 20 nations competing for the title, providing fans with a totem around which to gather and support their team, growing as the fervor of the fans increases.
Execution
We have created 20 superfans for the 20 nations of the Rugby World Cup, especially designed in collaboration with each country. Our Superfans have come to life on all media supports (TV, outdoor, social networks, AR, influence, etc.) and became the mascots of fans from each nation during the Rugby World Cup.
