Background
The film captures rural Australian life from the 1950s-2000s.
Frank is a larger than life immigrant character which would have been unusual during the 50s and 60s in rural Australia, so he would have been a minority.
Execution
The world was created using carefully selected locations, art direction, talent and wardrobe to show the town and it's people through the ages. We chose to shoot in an old gold rush town which still has a number of older style buildings which formed the key locations for 1950s, 60s and 70s scenes. All props and wardrobe were sourced to be accurate to the time period for each scene and we had to lock down each location completely to remove any modern elements like other cars, rubbish bins, etc. We then lent on post production to remove any final modern traces like lines on the road and telegraph poles.
