Demonstrating the horrific and real impact of a nuclear explosion for the general public is quite challenging, as the goal was not to scare people away from the video while also keeping it as realistic as possible. That's why we decided to use the medium of animation to create a simulation of a nuclear disaster. This way we could show the detonation and its effects step by step, without including explicit visuals. It creates the impression of a model city, which gets increasingly destroyed with every second into the video. Building this simulation through a carefully illustrated and animated film, gave us the possibility show the drastic consequences of such an event but still keep the audience's eye on the screen. The film provokes a gloomy situation for the viewer, but leaves with a clear call to action: Eliminating all nuclear weapons and vowing never to build them again.
