Description

We created a social experiment and filmed it to demonstrate the correct view about people with Down syndrome. On World Down Syndrome Day, people with Down Syndrome were invited to volunteer for the blind. But the blind had not been told that these volunteers have Down syndrome. At the end of day, we asked the blind how about these volunteers compared to before? Then we saw the fair and real comments about people with Down syndrome rather than judging them by their appearance. We put the‘What is your view’film on social media and released it to targeted media and news outlets. We make people think deeply about their view of people with Down Syndrome.

Execution

We created a social experiment and filmed it to demonstrate the correct view about people with Down syndrome. On March 21st World Down Syndrome Day, people with Down syndrome were invited to volunteer for the blind. But the blind had not been told that these volunteers have Down syndrome. These new volunteers helped the blind do chores and gave a performance as usual. At the end of day, we asked the blind What is your view about these volunteers compared to before? Then we saw the fair and real comments about people with Down syndrome. Because the Blind will not judge others by appearance, they can prove the ability of the people who have Down syndrome. We put the‘What is your view’film on social media and released it to targeted media and news outlets.

Outcome

This campaign attracted over 300 media coverage. More than 50,000,000 people talked about our project. This campaign challenged thousands’ views on Down Syndrome.
