Background

Internet speed & reliability are key factors when it comes to broadband consideration. Virgin Media’s credentials in these areas were under threat by competitors with deeper pockets and ever-improving products, so we needed to reaffirm our leadership in a commoditised category. Our challenge was to outsmart where we can’t outspend & cut through the clutter in a way that was memorable to people.

Thanks to Virgin Media's superior connectivity, anyone - or anything - can be inspired to reach their potential. It is this spirit that emboldens the film’s Highland Cow to pursue better - to leave the lacklustre behind, look forward with optimism and encourage the nation to do the same…all in an unmistakably Virgin, tongue-in-cheek way that’s impossible to ignore.

Execution

This little film I knew going in was going to be a CG animal so in order to counterbalance that I tried hard to film it as straight and ‘non fantasy’ as possible.

Just a cow on a motorcycle. No ‘jokes’ or adornments…that felt like enough.

It’s amazing how tricky it is to keep things that simple though.
