OVERVIEW

Description

In 2015, the migration crisis set off a wave of xenophobia in the Czech Republic, fueled even by the state leaders. To help Czech people empathize with today’s refugees, UNHCR decided to remind them of their own past. By re-telling the authentic stories of Czechs who escaped communism between 1948 – 1989. The fact that the launch film was originally banned from being aired on tv helped the whole campaign get even more publicity and start a nation-wide discussion.
