Execution

The game itself is a bit playful, yet quite a confrontational way to make sure that people do not forget about the fact that freedom of speech is not common in all countries. That's why the Committee saw it as a good way to attract attention and present it to the Dutch Secretary of State of Foreign Affairs. He not only accepted the game but also studied all the cards on the table while discussing the issue. The game also featured in a newspaper ad on the International day of the Imprisoned writer.

Outcome

The promotion not only generated attention and free publicity on a nationallevel, it also helped the PEN Association to profile itself internationally.Though initially developed on a local level, the game was received so well by all other PEN Centres all over the world that the game is going to be developed on a bigger scale to be used for promotional activities all overthe world.
