Description

Yahoo! was launching their new subscription music service, Yahoo! Music Unlimited, offering over a million songs for just 5 bucks a month, which blew away all their competitors’ offers. Music was an essential, universal and youthful category, but there was very low awareness of Yahoo! as a source for music. To bring awareness to that youthful audience, the campaign featured miniature caricatures of well-known musicians, all of whose music was available on Yahoo! Music Unlimited for a tiny price. The offer was huge, the music was huge, thus, the tagline, "This is huge. Yahoo! Music Unlimited".

Execution

The campaign launched simultaneously during the MTV Music Video Awards live broadcast and online (on Yahoo.com and other Internet sites), and with a Yahoo! Music Unlimited post-VMAs party. Print appeared in trade publications like Billboard, and outdoor in select markets. Later, the campaign was also tweaked to support Yahoo!'s sponsorship of the Grammy Awards.
